Disaster Zone 12:37 AM, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2006 Shortly after I added my last blog entry, a storm hit Seattle and we had a massive power outage which lasted for nearly 2 full days. Some areas have still not had their power restored and some say it might take as long as 6 days. I've never seen a storm like this before - wind speed topped 70mph. In the night, I was woken up by enormous thuds that shook my house like an earthquake. In the morning we realized those were caused by those huge evergreen trees that fell down. Here are some pictures I shot using my cell-phone. A large tree that fell in my neighborhood, narrowly missing two parked cars. Another large tree fallen on and being supported by power lines.
